Injection molding process to control weld lines for grille product with complicated structure. Multiple sequential nozzles hot-runner used to overcome the difficulty that radiator grille product deforms in huge quantity. The excellent result we controlled the deformation within 0.5mm was over customer’s expectation.
As the grille tooling requires high precision for its parting surface, we made effort to control machining equipment precision, cutting tool wear and tear, material stress deformation, CAM programming tool path and so on to get it ±0.005mm at last.
Machining Process about Grille Mould
When the mold gets closed, let hot steam enter the heating&cooling channel to raise the mold temperature till set value and then inject molten polymer. As soon as packing shifting to cooling, drive residual steam out of channel by air pressure and put in cold water to reduce mold temperature till set value. The last step is to blow air into the channel to get water out thereafter, take part off as mold open.
After the auto grille mould has been machined and assembled, it undergoes a surface treatment process to improve its appearance, durability, and performance. Common surface treatments used for auto grille moulds include polishing, plating, and coating.
