Features of Fender Mould

The mold is engineered to produce fenders with specific dimensions and curvature, ensuring a perfect fit with the vehicle's body, hood, bumper, and other components.

Machining Process about Fender Mould

Preheating the mold: The mold includes an upper mold and a lower mold.


Unloading: Cut the material to be processed into a pre-designed shape.


Stacking: Stack the material on the mold of the smc automobile fender molding hydraulic press.


Mold closing and curing: The composite hydraulic press closes the mold at a preset speed and performs pressure holding and curing. During the molding process, the hydraulic press can achieve fast descending, pre-pressing, deflation, working, pressure holding, cylinder pressure, slow mold opening, fast return, slow demolding, fast ejection, ejection stop, fast return and other actions.


In-mold spraying: Open the upper mold and the lower mold to the predetermined position. Inject the conductive primer at a predetermined pressure to expand the conductive primer to cover the fender’s surface, then pressurize and cure.


Cooling and shaping: Place the demoulded fender on a tooling to cool and shape it.

Air vent: To set air vent groove at sub channel ends and weld line areas with depth of ≤0.05mm, width 10mm to prevent overflow. Moreover to vent through gaps between parting surfaces, ejector parts and insert parts also guarantees the venting requirement.

 

Gating system: As no gates are allowed at part surface and self shearing gates are better, we choose submarine gate type. Through mold flow analysis to get best solution for gate quantity and locations, proper runner system shape and layout.

 

Mold temperature control system: To set up water channel based on the features of fender plastic mould core and cavity structure and layout of mold components, while do not have the channels interfere with the components.

 

Mold working procedure: Molten resin injected into mold, packing and cooling then mold open. Then the freezing residual resin gets off the channel. As it reaches the stroke value machine ejector cylinder works so are springs at return pins. After ejection mechanism pushes part out to ejection stroke value, get residual resin and part out, and lastly mold close to go on with next cycle.
