The fender injection mould was made for Ford MPV model named Tourneo. The fender can partly protect the vehicle from splashed dust and little rocks, especially on muddy road, the wheel rolls with water and dirt splashed which hit front and back bumpers. If there is no fender assembled, the flying debris may damage vehicle body parts and make noises.

What to Notice for fender mould Fitting

 

Before fitting, to check the key components assembly dimensions and shapes is required to avoid interference, especially whether chamfer is needed.

To have the slope positioning at the opposite angle of datum corner for the core assembly because it is not easy to measure how much machining allowance to reduce and control the precision for following machining if using vertical positioning. Consequently making the allowance at taper segment of wedge front end can avoid mismatch for core and cavity fitting.

To have 0.5mm gap for the cavity assembly is easy for inspecting if the core and cavity are well fitted and good for venting.

 

Fender Mold Assembly

 

The product dimension precision mainly depends on tool assembly, thus a strictly high technical requirement for the fender injection mould assembly helps to produce high quality fender product. And let’s see what to do to make it well.

1 Within 200mm length, mould parting surface should have no more than 5mm in parallel deviation against assembly plane or supporting plane.

2 The parting surface should be tightly closed when the tool mounted on injection machine, only less than 0.03mm gap is allowed except air venting slots.

3 parting surface of Inserts and gating system parts is not allowed to be lower than that of mould plate, and not higher than 0.1mm.

4 Within 200mm the vertical deviation between mould plate plane and axis of assembled guide pillar and bush can not be over 0.03mm.

5 All moving components should be active after assembly that under room temperature the interrelated parts should not act difficultly or be stuck when stressed by hand.

6 The ejector pin can not be higher than parting surface by 0.1mm, and the return pin just touches the parting surface while can be shorter not over 0.05mm.

7 Venting slots should be 0.1mm to 0.15mm in depth and circuitously draw forth out, to set them directly from mould cavity to operate side is forbidden.

8 Runner connecting should be smooth, draft angle over than 5 degree and surface roughness less than Ra0.4μm.
