1.Appearance
That the grille is smack in the front of a vehicle makes its appearance so important. It requires not only aesthetically pleasing but also is as a signature to the automakers usually that when looking at the vehicle grille, you can sometimes tell what brand the vehicle is. 2.Protection

3.Aerodynamic Feature
Definitely there is resistance by wind when car travels that we call wind drag, and when the speed goes over 100km/h the wind drag takes 80% of total resistance. So lower wind drag could effectively reduce fuel consumption or for new energy vehicle prolong the navigating. The cowl open area directly determines wind drag that the bigger area the more turbulence, nevertheless the smaller area the worse cooling capacity. Whereas, the grille open area should be designed in considering of aerodynamic feature and after strict testing. Actually there are many medium and high class automobile brand being equipped with live mouth --active grille to control open area under a certain circumstance.
However, electric car has no combustible engine or radiator to protect, many automakers still order a cowl injection mould for producing to keep grille. Some use fake ones for strictly design elements, while others have them for cooling the battery system. Moreover, a grille has aerodynamic features that manufacturers implement to boost speed, while reducing drag.
