Double Injection Mould
Overview of Bi-injection Molding Process
In a bi-injection process, two distinct materials are injected into a double injection mold at various gate locations that are independently controlled by two injection units.
An injection molding machine with two barrels and two nozzles is used in the double injection molding process.
Note: To regulate how the two materials are distributed within the part cavity, each nozzle can feed several gate (cavity entrance) locations.

Through different nozzles, Material A and Material B are injected. Where the two materials converge, a weld (or meld) line is created.

Here, you can optionally add a brief description of your assignment.
Verify that you have chosen bi-injection as the molding process and that you are utilizing a Midplane model.
1. Select the Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings under the Home header.
2. To proceed to the second injection settings page of the Process Settings Wizard, click Next.
3. Click the down arrow in the Delay timer option, then choose the appropriate control from the drop-down menu.
4. Click Finish after entering a value related to the option you choose.
Important: An error warning will display and the analysis will halt if you choose the ram position but do not specify the absolute ram speed profile.
